They don’t want to be left guessing. However, birth is unknown. The journey of birth is unknown and the other side is unknown, and influenced by the birth experience.
Each birth experience falls somewhere on the spectrum between unmedicated vaginal birth and abdominal surgery via a cesarean. Every person is unique and different; therefore, herbs and pharmaceuticals will influence and affect each person differently. For example, regarding an epidural some people will heave a headache while others will have permanent nerve damage (read more).
There is no right or wrong postpartum outcome. There is no healing timeline that wins the game. Accept where you are and progress from this moment. We are here to support you on your journey, but we can’t do the work for you. Lying in may be tough if you are used to being on the go. The basics are the boring stuff. Slow is fast is our favorite phrase that initial year postpartum.
