  • Thanks so much for addressing this issue. I gave birth to twins nalrey 24 years ago and with the Twin To Twin Transfusion Syndrome they had, one baby had an extremely large amount of amniotic fluid around her while her sister did not. But, the extreme amount of fluid around baby B (Katrina) caused my belly to stretch to within 2 inches of my height. I’m 5’4 tall.To say I was huge was an huge understatement! When they were born 5 weeks early Katrina was 5 lbs and her sister Serina was 4 lbs, 2 oz.It took a while to get the weight off, but being 25 helped it come off sooner, I think. I’d always been a slender person at 5’4 and average of 110 lbs, before pregnancy.Within 4 months of delivery, I was at about 120 lbs but still had a huge belly bulge (well, it seemed huge to me) and hundreds of stretch marks. My belly was wrecked, but I had my 2 healthy girls, so I didn’t complain! It does make me mad, now, knowing that the Dr. knew about this, but didn’t think it was important enough to me to help me fix it! I vaguely remember the term diastasis recti, but didn’t really know what it meant. So, even though I got back to my average pre-pregnancy weight, before and after my next daughter, Deanna, was born 3 years, 3 months and 3 days later, sadly my tummy never returned to it’s normal shape and size.I am encouraged to, finally, find a program with success under it’s belt, pun intended, to give me back my waistline so I can wear a belt again, or not, if the dress is fitted (which hasn’t looked good in a long while)! When I get my kit, I’ll take before, during, and after photos, for others out there, who may have gone 25 years without there waistline. To show them it can be done, even after that long!!Thank you Julie!
